NOKIA, MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA

Senior Manufacturing Engineer, October 2018 - Present

  • Created and sustained support systems for Nokia's hardware engineering groups which have saved USD 3.2 million over three years, with USD 1.4mil savings sustaining year-over-year

  • Increased efficiency of prototype builds by implementing a robust inventory system, increasing accountability of materials from start to finish on any given project.

  • Maintained a key leadership role in planning our new Nokia R&D facility in Sunnyvale, CA, providing vital R&D integration information and implementing new technologies and equipment to advance Nokia's design and NPI teams.

  • Conceptualized and executed a high-mix, high-volume assembly house for Nokia's SR-s product line and staffed the entire assembly team through my contacts, of which six were converted to full-time employees who now fulfill critical roles

EXPERIENCE

Manufacturing Engineer, July 2009 – October 2018

  • Manage a team of 10-12 technicians across multiple product lines in a high-pace, high-volume environment

  • Issue Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to release a new product, update current product
life cycles and terminate end-of-life products

  • Read and review mechanical drawings to create assembly processes for contract manufacturers (CMs), and assist the CMs throughout the planning phase

  • Inspect all First Article units and report flaws, and provide root-cause analysis

LEADERSHIP

Over the past six years, I have led and developed a team to anticipate and facilitate our hardware engineering group's needs. Under my leadership, our team developed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each discipline within our group. As well as hosting development meetings weekly to ensure continual improvement, I am also the OSHA-certified forklift operator trainer, and I also lead other training sessions on ISO, EPA, quality, and safety standards.

EXPERTISE

PROCESS PLANNING

I have been the primary process planner for three major product cycles, which led to great success for each project. Provided end-to-end solutions for my engineering team by developing tools, processes and implementing equipment to refine, expedite, and ultimately perfect the production line. The processes and tooling I have developed and put in place during prototyping are carried over to our contract manufacturing plants.
