Hello, and thank you for visiting my site!
While creating this website, my initial intent was for a simple demonstration of my skills and work history. Still, as I made the content on the preceding pages, I realized that I could not correctly express who I am without paying homage to my family and friends and the path I have traveled to arrive where I am now. Therefore, the following is an insight into my personal life.
My name is Jacob Groth,
but I am better known as Jake.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I consider myself an adventurous tinkerer and master learner. I spent my youth in Alameda, CA, where I participated in Sea Cadets, took sailing lessons, and rode my bike around the island for miles each day with my buddies. Alameda is also where I met and became fast friends with Nicole, whom I now call my wife. We have been married for seven years and have a wonderful two-year-old son together. Nothing has brought me more joy in life than being a parent alongside Nicole.
I have developed a wide range of passions over the years, from cage diving with great white sharks to making homemade ice cream with my son.
However, my favorite activities always have to do with working with my hands, so woodworking and gardening are at the top of my favorites list. When I am not doing any of the aforementioned, I enjoy traveling with my family and hope to one day visit Europe.
